LZ Granderson: How emotional was your faith crisis or was it pretty? LZ: I feel like the hardest part of deconstructing is the relationships that become tense. Oftentimes you lose those relationships, and so for example, one of the moments in Sunday school did kind of like sparked a brush fire. It was only a matter of time for that, you know, fire to spread. But when it was also a less moral system, then like what atheists were doing, I was like, wait a minute, like that doesn't match the brochure.
