The Impossibility of Tyranny in Israel
In the Israeli context, we do not see that kind of separation of powers. The supreme court basically on its own just decided that it would adopt what was known as the basic law and give it constitutional authority. David Ben-Gurion didn't want a written constitution because given the necessity of forging a new nation with so many enemies surrounding it. But there have been other constitutional developments in Israel.
