There is no ing in the vedic texts, or in what we call hinduism that says that you cannot practise burials. So there's nothing that suggests that this is not part of indian culture. Just because you respect somebody doesn't mean that that person becomes your responsibility. And the indias problems were indias problem. You gas deal with it.
