RCMP Mistrial - Dax Mac Kills Robert LaVoir
The second trial started much later than anticipated, in January of 2008. The prosecution put forward the theory that Dax Mac had decided to kill his friend and roommate Robert LaVoir because he allegedly owed him money. One of the star witnesses was Jay Love, who testified to the same version of events he first recounted to Staff Sergeant Storfer at the local RCMP detachment. In cross-examination, Jay admitted that he had been upset when he had to resign from his job as the RCMP Auxiliary Officer.
