The US Government's Decision to Restrict AI Workloads to US Companies
If we want to take inspiration from these export restrictions and say that something similar could apply to a US company what would be required for you to say this is a good idea how reckless would you see a company behaving before you would pull the trigger on saying for example not giving them access to chips because this seems like a pretty serious action. The reason why the US eventually did this is because other legal tools just don't work it's like hey we're selling you chips please don't give them to the army you know guess what we figured out they end up at the army anyways so you pull this blunt tool which I call compute governance.
