Robert James Coaching talks about the difference between positive and negative distraction. Distraction sometimes gets bad press, almost as if it's something that you shouldn't be doing. If we do distraction in a positive way, by gently redirecting our focus with a certain quality, a mindful quality to it, then actually distraction can be a useful tool. Some of the time you need to be able to just chill, without actually having to do anything in order to not pay attention to OCD.
