Are We Still Seeing Less Males Being Born?
The ratio of male to female babies actually went back to normal by August 2020. The reason why fewer males are thought to be born after these stressful events is potentially because the stress activates some non-conscious evolved mechanism in pregnant women that leads them to spontaneously abort fetuses. These pregnancy losses seem to occur in the second trimester which may be the point at which the mother is able to unconsciously detect the health of her fetus. It's just this short-lived phenomenon that won't have any significant impact on the future demographics of the UK it's not like there's going to be a shortage of men down the line or anything.
