Atlanta Is Famous for Its Black, White, Urban Regime
In 1906, there was a substantial violent and deadly anti-Black massacre in the city. That really accelerated or kind of furthered segregation in Atlanta. The Black power structure accepted highly segregated subdivision developments that were in certain parts of town. So increasingly over time, the city became more and more segregated.
