You'll need to use the title of the text, the introduction and the final paragraph to get a general gist of the text. What you will often find is that by skimming the text, skim reading the text, you'll find that the text is organized in certain ways. It may be necessary to draw lines or to highlight the text in some way to help you navigate that text more easily. These are the things that you should be doing while reading.
