The Story of Jorge Marquez Medina
Cynthia Corzo was a young reporter from Miami's Spanish language daily newspaper El Nuevo Herald. In 1991, Jorge Luis Marquez Medina called Cynthia to tell her that he and other detainees had started a riot at Talladega Federal Correctional Institution. By the time Cynthia reached him, all 119 detainees had been released from their cells. The story we're going to tell you is about what happened when we set out to find the men on the roof.
