The Rise of Fast Fashion
Social media has played a major role in the rise of fast fashion. In many cases, it's unfortunately the only way for plus-size folks to shop for cute, fashionable clothing that isn't essentially like a mumu or just like a brown burlap bag. If other places could develop a size inclusive clothing that is actually something that people would want to wear, then I think this whole issue would slowly disappear. But until that happens, folks are going to continue shopping fast fashion and they're fully aware of that and they're capitalizing on it.
