What Is the 11 Plus?

Hannah's asked, what was the 11 plus and why? As it still used in some places ok said, the 11 plus was a a test int uced a generally. It allowed pupils to decide which type of secondary school they'd go to. The idea was that ther em 11 plus result would guide you into one of those. But after a while evidence merged hat it was actually quite inefficient at doing that sorting. And maybe part of that consistency was about what it offered for teachers as well.
