Tim McVay's Story

Tim McVay joined the army because he couldn't find his place in middle class life. He was deployed as part of Operation Desert Storm, invading Kuwait to fight Saddam Hussein's Iraqi army. His service in the Gulf War so far as we know was exemplary. But like a lot of men who go to war, McVay was troubled by what he saw. The disenchantment caught up with him and he decided to leave the military. It's unfortunate that he did because we might not be having this conversation now.
