The Cycles of Life Are Imbedded in the Matrix
Octavia Butler suffered from writers block for part of her life. She never finished the third book in her parable series, which was going to be called parable of the trickster. By the time she passed away, i think she had turned a corner, because fledgling came out shortly before she died, and she was writing again.
