The Importance of a Perfect Design System

Do you think it's possible for a company to use a design system perfectly or will there always be failures? This is a really hard question because I feel like at least all of my professional experiences with design systems have been creating a design system out of an existing product. Like we're not creating a super beautiful, complete design system that you then start using to build your product. No one's going to do that because they need to MVP. They just need a proof of concept of what they want to build and then we can clean it up later in the process.
