CHAPTER

The Dose Dependence of Psychedelics

The effects of psychedelics are very dose dependent. The brain is a multi level prediction machine where the lower levels specialize in stuff closer to sensory information itself. And then the higher levels deal with much more abstract things like, I know what kind of thing is this? What can I do with it? In the case of many of the predictions that seem to be targeted by the psychedelics at the low levels, you get sort of visual disturbances,. You might see creep in forms, different textures, strange colors. Then at the higher doses, you get the really interesting effects like ego dissolution and oneness with the universe or beneficial effects on people with chronic depression for example.
