The Evolution of Sunscreen

In winter, the UV index is like zero or one for you. The World Health Organization would not recommend sunscreen. Post-industrial revolution and probably in around the 1920s, that's when tanning got really popular. I believe it was Coco Chanel who came back from a trip in the Mediterranean with a tan. People started going on more summer holidays. We had air vase become a lot cheaper. So people could actually fly out on a summer holiday every year and get a whole bunch of sun exposure. These changes in lifestyle, it's really impacted how our skin has dealt with the UV. And another reason is just changes in our lifestyles, which have happened over time.
