Orban's Line Is, You Know, 97% of Hungarians Are Against Sanctions

Orban's line is, well, I'm here to represent Hungarians and Hungarian interests. And this is very much sort of Orban's line. The regime spends a lot of money and media effort in trying to ensure that from a, you know, frankly limited and partial referendum, it gets the kind of vote it wants. It then flips that round to do two things. One is to justify its actions. We are just simply doing what the people want. But maybe 2007 vintage Putin? When we were getting increasingly the legitimation of the regime was based on A, stability, B, looking after people's material needs, and C, invocations of nationalism.
