The Importance of Usability in Learning Experiences

Why do you think there's more emphasis on usability when it comes to web design, e-commerce than there is in learning experiences? For me when I brought up this topic I encountered a lot of resistance. In order to be truly successful as educators and to meet our desired outcomes we need to see that entire package which for me was not only the education component but also the environment that we were operating in.
