Is There an Increased Risk of a Caesarian?

There was this rule in epstetrics that if you induce some one's labor, you are increasing the risk of a caesarian. And because of that, we were very hesitant to induce people unless it was absolutely necessary. But now studies have shown that there is no difference between inducing women at 39 weeks and those who don't. It does take explaining even if the patient knows that she has a medical issue and suspected that this would be the case.
