The cloud is really good only when you use it for its elasticity and scale. If you treat a cloud like a data center, then I'm guessing nine out of 10 times, you will end up spending more than you did in your data centers. The bottom line is that it makes no sense to be in the cloud if you haven't understood and adopted the cloud mindset.
