Is There a Connection Between New Orleans and Education?

New orleans is one of the first cities in the country to value education for women, because of its french and catholic background. I went to elementary school called langtonhughes elementary school for about four years. So i grew up around people with all different backgrounds. The image of black america loomed large in my imagination at a very young age. But what that education o experience did was, i'm actually, quite foundational.
