We're All the Best of the System, Right?

I think on the crossbench there's an interesting mix, right? There are definitely some independents on the cross bench that are more staunchly independent only and just there for their community. I believe honestly that if we got to any of those sorts of situations, we would work together constructively. Probably not as a typical party, but in a constructive collective or network to be very useful. The phenomenon of these teal independence did not just send seven brilliant, progressive, smaller liberal women into parliament. They showed our big centre-right liberal party the consequences of swinging off to the populist reactionary right. In my view, Rupert Murdoch has done more damage to American democracy than any other individual alive today
