The Pathophysiology of Diabetic Ketoacidosis

Diabetic ketoacidosis is a complete deficiency of insulin in those with HHS or even type 2 diabetes who have maybe a ketosis prone component. To prevent ketosis for anybody, you need a very minimal amount of insulin. For HHS, it's more of being so dry and they're just completely Ketotic that we're not dealing with type two diabetic ketosis. But if they're not eating, which many are not, they can just generate ketones from starvation ketosis.
