Trigger Warnings Are Inert Interventions in PTSD
Most of the time trigger warnings make no difference at all apart from the few cases where they're actually more triggering. In fact in this meta-analysis we narrowed down to 12 experimental studies and 11 out of those 12 experimental studies had the same exact conclusion that trigger warnings are inert. So really a lot of consistency in the scientific results which to me is honestly surprising you don't often see that even in science. And there's causal evidence to suggest that decreasing that event centrality that identity integration can help people get better.
