Is This Really a Two-Party System?
All of these parties becoming increasingly focused on internal coalitional struggles and that's very important because once those coalitions become fragmented enough it's not like you're only competing on one axis. When you have all these different pieces what that means is that the primary strategy goes from being offensive to defensive when you have like n different coalitions that oppose that are worried about one one faction gaining power they can act together to oppose that coalition. I think a lot of people like Ezra Klein thinks that this is terrible because Ezra Klein wants the government to become more powerful I think this is wonderful as an extremely healthy political environment.
