I was completely dyslexic and had not one iota of any academic prowess whatsoever at school. I think it was my learning disability that drove me by some happen sense both my sisters went into the arts, Susan is a very fine actress with the Royal Shakespeare Company. When dad said do you want to go to college and he didn't have any money but he was obviously making it available for me. With tears in our eyes I said daddy I want to go to London and play drums. They sent me off with a drum kit to Oxford University.
