Henrietta's Letter to Louise

It's very easy to read it as a sort of simple, heartfelt cry. But the language is so heavily larded with actually classical illusions. You can't read it simply as a transparent cry of anguish. I have great dividends in saying to Henrietta, but I would have thought that writing in Latin, which would have been the language of her learning, and not the language that she spoke to the kitchen made.
