essence is the real us, persona is a manufactured artifice. Personality will never do anything d when we die, it will die. But essence has the possibility of maturing to the point where we even go on after death. Most people live in their false self - they've come to believe their own mythology. They no longer live in essence. And that's why we sometimes have this thing called the midlife crisis.
