What Is It That Drove Philosophers Like Witgenstein?

i wish one knew what it was that drove great philosophers aus. One might even aspire to be such a thing oneself. Wickenstein became a philosopher not because he wanted a firm foundation for his beliefs, but because he felt confused. I think i was probably impelled into philosophy by that sense of wanting to find out what i was in the world for. And so i suppose i came to philosophy through being engulfed by questions that ultimately i recognized as philosophical questions.
