Is the Legal Framework of War Relevant to Moral Arguments About War?
In your book about humane war, you advance this kind of thesis that the us. Has come to see legally permissible to mean morally permissible. So it officially, these two bodies of law we've been talking about are ar ar or or ed from each other. It's supposed to be an independent and separate question, whether the war your fighting is itself legal, and whether you're fighting it legally. But what i'm trying to do with the book is say, we've fought a lot of wars that we either excused or actually championed as, you know, morally justified. And especially with respect to the ultimate value of this law, that is attempting to make our wars less brutal.
