Lawren says wessie was probably just someone's pet annaconda that escaped. But he doubts the creature actually made an appearance in 19 o nine. He and a colleague did some digging, and they turned up what they believed was a mould used to make fake jersey devil footprints. Their theory is that people were being manipulated as part of a real estate scam.
