Is There a Trend in Prosecutors' Offices to Form Conviction Integrity Units?

There's been something like almost 3,000 exonerations since this national database was started in 1989 and you can't really ignore that anymore. Some prosecutors' offices are now forming their own conviction integrity units so that people can make requests directly to them to review convictions where they think there was a problem. The last thing most of us want is to prosecute somebody who's actually innocent. Not only is it really awful to think of an innocent person sitting in prison, but also means the real criminal is still out there.
