The Importance of Living in Brazil
I was working as a lawyer and wasn't happy about that I was looking for something else to do. The Defense of Marriage Act, which was a law enacted in the mid 90s with this huge bipartisan consensus under Clinton. And it forced me to figure out how to live in Brazil because of the time. If he had been a woman I would have had automatic rights to get him a green card and we could have moved to the United States and I could have worked as a lawyer there.
