The way that we discover and start to learn our internal emotional state is through the mirroring of the adults around us. So, like, when i'm a child, and i get a booboo, and i go to mam, and mam is like, oh, you poor baby. Let me make it feel better. So i'm feeling hurt, mam expresses concern, and the world makes sense. But if mom tells me to shut the hell up? Did i do something wrong? Things get really confusing when that, that emotional mirroring is inconsistent.
