I'm departing from standard consequentialism in endorsing permissions or permitting reasons. So one permitting reason would be it just demands too much of a sacrifice on my behalf. This is a non-consequentious approach. The fact that you could prevent serious harm to an innocent person grounds the requirements of altruism rather than promoting impartially good states and affairs.
