The Challenges of Being a Manager of Managers

Middle management is a very broad category, but I believe that it still needs to be broken down into a couple of levels. Being a manager of individual contributors essentially means that you're managing a team of highly execution focused individuals. So those are two very different roles. Managing a team does not mean, in my opinion, at least, being necessarily a middle manager.
