Index Funds - Are They Really the Investment Solution?

i wanted to unpack how index funds work with a little thought experiment. Over any meaningful period of time, multi decades, ten, 20, 30 years, most of them massively under perform the wise investor. The financial and investing literate thinks in molty decades. There is a tiny percentage of these fun managers that beat the index. They are then known as star managers. And they've out smarted the index over ameaning period of time - we don't know if it's through luck or judgment. So anyway, let's move on. Er, the smart money generally gravitates to buying index funds.
