The End of AI Is Like 2001 Was a Spielberg Thing
The ending of AI is so similar to the end of 2001, says director Steven Spielberg. The editing choices in this film are just so that are so jarring and there's a couple of them specifically for example when they go down the moon on Tycho it goes handheld. There's even lens flare while they're walking down the staircase as part of Kubrick's back pocket thing he'll like whip out as a secret weapon during controlled movies 100%.
