Shintabe emerged from one of japan's most prominent political families. He was born with a political silver spoon in his mouth, and he inherited his father's constituency on his death. Shintabe brought a very pronounced political ideology, a right wing, nationalist conservatism which had hitherto not been the nant strand in the liberal democratic party. And he brought very clear ideas about changes he wanted to bring to Japan.
