The Evolution of General Equilibrium Theory

Tatonimo was born in 1834 and lived until 1910. In the 19th century, France modernized at a much slower rate than rivals such as UK and Germany. The French population only grows by 8.6% between 1871 and 1911; Germany's grows by 60%. So you almost see the French to a certain extent being left behind a little bit in the 19th Century. Maybe that's reflected in how him, he is a French economist, is viewed by British economists.
