Jesus Emotions in the Gospels by Stephen Foreman
Author Lisa Feldman Barrett argues that human nature is such that it requires nurture. She's trying to push back against this classical view of emotions, she says. So we can see Jesus being full of joy when he sends out the 72 disciples and they come back with their mission was successful. And so you see his emotion moving him toward a goal in Gethsemane which is another emotional passage where he is actually holding on for dear life.
