Call to the Ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ

Any evidence of an internal call is a conscious exercise of these qualifying graces and gifts, assuring us that they were given by the Holy Spirit. The end aimed at an call to the ministry is not our glory, honor or comfort, but the glory and honor of the triune God is in Christ Jesus. An actual entrance upon that course of study which is necessary to prepare for the work, and the actual discharge of its duties when so prepared. In this act,. the soul looks neither to itself nor to the effects which are to follow, but only to the word and to Him who there speaks.
