What Is Rainbow Tables?

Hackers can reverse engineer passwords by using a tool called rainbow tables. The data base is made up of different algrathms that have been hashed with different algorithms. A hacker could use this information to steal the password from another website, and then compare it to other known hashes he's already stolen. And people are keeping him on top of those building on top of each other.
