The Importance of Mercy
In Hebrews 12, 5 through 11, most Christians have heard this verse many, many times. It says God disciplines his children because he loves them and all of us undergo discipline. The difference between universalism and the other two views in all three views is there is this metaphor of passing through the fire. Fire is a refining process where we go through it on our way to being made good. We haven't fully been redeemed in this image of Christ yet.
