The Maccabees

The name Hasmonean comes from a guy called Hashmon. The name I use all the time is the Maccabees who's named after a specific guy in the mix. So that is one common name. But they seem to be identical names for exactly the same group of people. They are ultra, I guess, sort of. so what they're saying is like, hey, we didn't commit a coup against the Sadducees, Sadduceees, no, it was a counter coup. You're bringing back the old traditions. This is why we're kicking the SadduCEes out of the temple. When will they kick down in the temple?
