I think it is important to remember that any form can become deep. Ritual has been, because of Freud, ritual has been reduced to the compulsive and because of our post-protestive rain shadow, it's either the compulsive or the meaningless act. They are peripheral connotations at that point to pathological possibilities rather than prototypical realities. And so I think we also have to rehabilitate ritual in that way because of what you just said. We evaluate a ritual in terms of how it's complexifying cognition such to enhance relevance realization in a reliable and comprehensive manner. Is it doing that? For me, that's sort of the final sort of functional requirement.
