The Positive Users of Surveillance in China

In Xinjiang, obviously, the surveillance was targeting minorities and they were in the western part of China. But if you had traveled or lived in the parts of China on the east coast, for example, Shanghai, you'll find that Chinese police were using surveillance in ways that the Chinese felt were very beneficial to their lives. So there were all these other users in other parts of China where when you speak to the Chinese there, they say that having the data collected and having surveillance is an okay trade-off because they're seeing the positive upside of it.
