China's Plan to Build a World-Class Military by the Mid-21st Century
China may move up its plan to build a world-class military by the mid-21st century. This comes after claims that Beijing is building up and modernizing its military. The Japanese draft defense paper expresses concerns over increasing Russian and Chinese military activities in the waters around the country. It says that the military buildup is clearly a show of force to Japan. As per the paper, China could possess 1500 nuclear warheads by 2035.
