The Future of Programming Languages

In the short term, programming languages are obviously going to continue to be as popular as they always have been. But in a world in which creating new code is more and more done by AIs, then reviewing code becomes a significantly bigger percentage of what we're spending our time on. The heart bleed example is interesting because that's a pretty good example of where bizarrely syntax starts to matter more. That's a perfect example of how making code easier to review and having stronger guarantees about the code such that you don't need to keep as much context in your head as the human reviewer does.
